Welcome to the pot of gold at the end of the Switchwords rainbow
(inspired by the switchword TOGETHERFIND)!
Sometimes I have gratefully wanted to give a tithe, or what Dr.
Catherine Ponder would call a "Divine Prosperity
Gift," to an individual or organization that I benefited
greatly from ... but they offered no easy way for people to contribute
financially, other than purchasing their products.
So to avoid such dilemmas, this page is to
make it easy and convenient for all philanthropists, tithers, and good friends to give your gifts to me and the
Switchwords Project! I know that must seem very audacious to some
people. But I know that I always sincerely appreciate
FINDing good
opportunities to give money to good causes and people ... giving it away where it
makes a positive difference is one of
the joys of having an abundance of money. So I'm providing such an
opportunity to others, and I see it as giving a gift of beneficial receiving.
No guarantees, but I always declare that whatever money gifts I receive, tenfold
that amount returns to the giver (perhaps there's a a new switchword: TENFOLD.)
Speaking of tenfold, I have tithed for many years, and find it works very well to give
away the first 10% of one's income to whatever individual or
organization you've been receiving spiritual/transformational
benefits from. "Tithe" and "tenth" are similar
words with the same root meaning. Some of the wealthiest religions
in the world teach and practice tithing (not coincidentally), but I find that
tithing is a universal principle that works whether it's practiced in a context
of religion or not.
Whatever individuals or organizations in
spiritual/transformational/self-improvement work that you've benefited from and feel
grateful towards ... those are the best ones to tithe to.
-
Tithing
creates positive money "karma" (what goes around
comes around)
-
When
you give away the first part of some income you've received
consciously and wisely, you will also then allocate the remaining 90% of it consciously
and wisely
-
It
benefits and supports the individual or organization you're
giving to and furthers their positive work in the world
-
It
keeps you in a flowing giving consciousness and thereby the
abundance consciousness
-
You
can't give anything without receiving something
-
The more
you give the more you receive
After you tithe awhile, you may find that tithe-giving and
money-receiving in your life are so connected that you can give the
tithe in advance, and the other 90% will then show up (even if you
don't know before the way that it will)! This tithing-in-advance is called giving "seed
money."
(The manual on this is a famous little book called Seed Money in Action, by
Jon Speller [Robert Speller & Sons, 1965], still available at amazon.com.)
The simple technique is to give your seed money with love and appreciation, and then privately declare (silently or aloud) "I HAVE RECEIVED
[10 times the amount given] WITH GOOD TO ALL CONCERNED. THANK YOU. THANK YOU. THANK YOU." And just continue playfully and persistently and patiently (the 3 P's), until that really has happened in your physical world.
For example, a few years ago I gave a surprise gift of US$600 to a dear friend, and
then declared that I had received $6000 in return, with good to all concerned, thank you, thank you, thank you.
As events unfolded over time in my life thereafter, I was offered a fun tourist industry job in Hawaii for a few months (which I did not know about at the time of my gift) and I made exactly $6000. (It's often remarkable the way the numbers turn up exactly 10 times larger.)
I have done this seedmoney and "harvest" cycle successfully many times in my life, and it's amazing what can unfold out of doing this technique. The seed money return can come in extraordinary ways or ordinary ways. It usually takes some time to grow, just like a seed growing into a tree and then fruits. But with proper care, grow it does and the "harvest" appears.
Tithing and seedmoney giving are by definition not business. If there is obligation or exchange in it, then it's not a pure gift.
It's a little paradoxical -- when you give tithes or seedmoney you know you'll be receiving multiplied returns in the
future as a byproduct, but the gift itself has to be complete in itself in the
moment. If you're "giving to get," that's not a pure gift.
So when I give a tithe or seedmoney gift, I come from sincerely wanting to contribute to and benefit and support the recipient, without any thought of return from <them>. At the same time, I recognize it's inevitable that multiplied returns will be coming; it just happens, giving and receiving are two sides of the same coin, and you can't give anything away without receiving something from some direction or another.
The SWITCHWORDS e-book is very global, the first 900 copies were
purchased by people in 55 countries, and the price is kept low to make
it accessible worldwide. (In most wealthy Western countries, the
e-book is very underpriced at US$21.95, but in many lesser-wealthy
countries, US$21.95 can be a relatively large sum of money.) Relative to the value
that people report they get from switchwords, the price ought to be
hundreds or thousands of dollars or more ... or as Sandra Fieger
says, "The value of this book is immeasurable." So
I invite you to appropriately express your gratitude financially! as you've probably gotten way
more value from switchwords and the e-book than US$21.95.
Your gifts to me are not tax-deductible, I'm not non-profit, and I am not a
minister, priest, or guru. I am just another ordinary human being,
author, and artist working to make a difference, share my talents
and gifts, and create a better
world together. (See my informal photoautobiography.)
Your giving is good for
you, good for me, good for everyone. Thanks very much!
As we used to say in Unity Sundayschool at Unity Village,
Missouri, USA, when I was growing up near there, "DIVINE
LOVE blesses and multiplies all that I give and all that I
receive."
I
gratefully receive any financial gifts you're inspired to give, of
any size, small or large (you're even invited to make internet
history and say "thanks
a million")!
